DESSERTS

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 stick butter
• ½ cup Crisco
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 5 egg yolks
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 cup coconut
• ½ cup nuts
• 5 egg whites

DIRECTIONS:

• Cream butter and Crisco
• Add sugar into mixture and egg yolks one-at-a-time
• Combine flour and soda; add to mix, alternately, with buttermilk
• Stir in vanilla; add coconut and nuts
• Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites
• Pour batter into pans
• Bake at 350ºF
